No-exam life insurance

Which applicants qualify for accelerated underwriting, how the process functions, and what happens otherwise.

Several carriers provide accelerated underwriting: within set age and coverage bands, they reach conclusions from the application, prescription files, driving records and related information, bypassing the paramedical exam. Approvals can arrive the same day. Every quote shown here indicates whether the product needs an exam, might need one, or requires none.

What it changes

Avoiding an exam does not mean avoiding underwriting. Your stated facts are checked, and a policy based on wrong information remains contestable for two years. If the carrier uncovers concerns in its investigation, it may request an exam or labs anyway; at that stage, you choose what to do.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, people under about 60 seeking coverage below the carrier's accelerated limit, with no significant health events and no tobacco use for at least a year. Some carriers will substitute recent lab work from a doctor's visit for a paramedical exam.

If an exam is required, expect a 20 to 30-minute appointment with a paramedical examiner at your residence or workplace in the Colton area, with no charge to you. For healthy applicants, exam results frequently improve the rate class, so it is not always unwelcome.
